Watch this behind the scenes video as we give you a sneak peek into the answer that reveals who the real Marie Antoinette was.

Marie Antoinette often enjoyed escaping the pomp and demands of court in Versailles. Outside the public eye, she eschewed pretentious dress, wore no makeup and picnicked with her family. She preferred simplicity to the suffocating stuffiness and formality of royal life. Sadly, Marie Antoinette only alienated herself from the court and her people when she escaped the pomp of Versailles. The people loved their royalty and all the trappings. The nobility were often enraged when attending functions at Versailles while she was playing maiden to private audiences at Trianon. Even her husband needed an invitation to attend.
