Test Your Skills in “Crossbow Defender”
Crossbow Defender: Play Now.
Test your skills against enemy knights in our medieval first person shooter. One of our flash developers who worked on the Museum Secrets website hit a grand slam and was able to kill all of the knights on the battlefield with all 4 crossbows in a row. The challenge for you gamers, history and museums fans out there: go to this link, select your bow and try to hit a medieval grand slam! Post your comments below or on youtube (or even better, your video or photo showing your skills). Good luck!
Behind the scenes on a medieval weapons shoot
Tonight is the third night when you can catch Museum Secrets: Inside the ROM broadcasting on History Television (Canada) at 7 PM ET/PT. But before or after you do, you can hear from director Kenton Vaughan for a behind-the-scenes perspective on the filming of one of my favourite stories in the episode, the mystery of why medieval warriors put down a trusted crossbow and picked up the gun.
Watch our director commentary video with Kenton Vaughan.
A 3D video made from a CT scan reveals how a baby mummy died
Tonight on Museum Secrets: Inside the ROM at 10 PM on History Television (Canada), one of the stories we explore takes us behind closed doors to investigate the mysterious death of a baby mummy. In order to discover what ended their short lives, Gayle Gibson from the ROM and Professor Andrew Nelson examine a CT scan of the tiny mummified boy.
